From our humble beginnings as a pre-natal service, Avis Goodwin Community Health Center is still going strong after 35 years. We have grown to become a fully integrated health care center with health care for all age and provide medical, mental and oral health care to 8,000 patients residing in Strafford County and surrounding communities. We have three clinical locations, five dental rooms, a staff of social workers providing mental health counseling, nutritionists and our Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC), a free health, food and nutrition program supports thousands of moms and children, breast and cervical cancer screenings, and a free school-based dental education program for more than 1,400 children a year.
Our ultimate goal is to combine all of our sites and build one spacious, centralized neighborhood healthcare facility and expand to meet the growing need in all the communities we serve.

Want to Make a Difference all Year? Adopt A Program!
We proudly kick off our new Adopt A Program initiative, designed for philanthropic, compassionate, individual donors or businesses who want to give back to their community on a larger scale, touching thousands of lives all year.
Adopters review the wide range of services and programs at AGCHC and choose an area of interest or cause they believe in to adopt. Their donation helps cover the annual expenses for that program. As a special VIP, their name or company would be associated with this program, along with a year’s worth of marketing, advertising and PR, related to the program. The VIP is welcome at all activities associated with their adopted program.
Programs available to adopt include, but are not limited to: Diabetes, Asthma, Centering Pregnancy, Senior Pal, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, PERKS, and Teddy Bear clinics. You may also Adopt A Patient or a Family.
